Goal is to help teach residents about co-existing with desert wildlife

PHOENIX, Ariz. – (Nov. 17, 2008) – Paradise Reserve, an exclusive luxury residential enclave at the crossroads of Phoenix and Paradise Valley, is pleased to announce an alliance with Liberty Wildlife, a Valley-based wildlife rescue organization, to help educate future residents on how to apply Liberty Wildlife’s mission to “nurture the nature” of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve that surrounds Paradise Reserve, a one-of-a-kind “desert retreat in the heart of the city.”

The alliance between Paradise Reserve and Liberty Wildlife will focus on educating residents and interested members of the nearby community on how to effectively live in harmony with native wildlife. The two organizations are also planning a 2009 mini-lecture series.

“As environmental stewards of Paradise Reserve, we believe our relationship with the experts at Liberty Wildlife is important to help build awareness of the area wildlife and help safeguard the land,” said Scott Patrick Schiabor of Paradiso Development Corporation, the developer of Paradise Reserve. “We have a unique responsibility as neighbors of the treasured Phoenix Mountain Preserve and know that our educational programs with Liberty Wildlife will be beneficial for residents and the native fauna alike.”
Liberty Wildlife’s mission to “nurture the nature of Arizona” has allowed the rehabilitation and release of thousands of native wildlife animals back into the wild since 1981. Each year, Liberty Wildlife rehabilitates more than 3,500 animals with the support of more than 300 volunteers. The nonprofit organization works with numerous community organizations including the Animal Welfare League, the Phoenix Zoo and Audubon Arizona to instill in the public the values of stewardship of native wildlife and its habitat, and to ensure the proper care and professional medical attention is applied to wildlife with the mission to return rescued animals back into nature.

“We have been impressed with the Paradise Reserve team and how they have carefully maintained the integrity of the land,” said Megan Mosby, executive director of Liberty Wildlife. “We look forward to educating their residents on how they can best serve wildlife and ensure the most harmonious relationship possible.”

Every aspect of Paradise Reserve employs strategic engineering and landscape design that respects the natural environment. Each of the one to three acre estate homesite properties are protected by large building envelopes which enhance the homeowner’s private and personal connection to the land. To ensure the native environment continues to experience the least possible impact, more than $25 million was invested in upfront infrastructure to protect and minimize the project’s footprint.

Schiabor and his Scott Patrick Family of Companies, along with his partner at Paradiso, Bob Sahd, have developed numerous successful communities around the Southwest including New Mexico, Texas, and now Arizona. At the center of each development is a keen awareness of the native fauna and flora and how homes can be integrated into a landscape that blends within the surrounding environment. Unique amenities at Paradise Reserve include a private pet park and desert gardens.

Slated for grand opening toward the end of 2008, Paradise Reserve has 14 hillside lots available in Phase I. Phase II will include 32 villa lots. Each custom home at Paradise Reserve will be built by approved builders with experience in luxury and environmentally-sound design.

Construction on homes will commence in early 2009 and local builders will work with property owners on their individualized needs.
